Dear fellow Bulgarians and friends of Bulgaria,
We are delighted to invite you to a joyful March celebration dedicated to Bulgaria’s Liberation Day and the tradition of the martenitsa – a beautiful Bulgarian custom believed to bring luck and good health for the whole year.
Join us on 1 March to be part of this special Bulgarian festivity, where you’ll be able to exchange martenitsi, enjoy delicious Bulgarian food, and immerse yourself in folk music and dancing.
Our programme will feature performances by "Bulgarian Folk Dances Cambridge", Folklore Fitness “Balkan Dance” – Cambridge, Folklore Fitness “Priyateli (Friends)” – Bury St. Edmunds, as well as the Bulgarian Orthodox Community in Cambridge. There will also be a contest for the most original martenitsa.
Let’s welcome the season of martenitsi and the coming spring together, and mark Bulgaria’s Liberation Day in good company! Bring your good mood and come along for an afternoon of celebration and fun – we look forward to seeing you!
